Ok girls, whether or not you know it, I've been having a crisis about my age. I think this is what has driven me so hard to get a job in law enforcement, push past my physical limitations and attempt to succeed at this.
Now I've decided to do something else thats weird...
SHOCKER, I ordered an electric guitar today and I'm going to learn to play it. I have some free time waiting for this job to start, so I need something to do. I've always wanted to do this, and what better time than now, when I'm knocking at deaths door?
I'll keep you posted on how it goes. It will probably be like everything else I do, I'll fizzle out on it, either that or become the next Bonnie Raitt.
A friend and I were discussing tanning beds the other day, and really when it comes right down to it, you are rolling the dice and taking a chance with many things you chose to do for beauty reasons in your life.
The way I see it lately, I'm not in charge of my destiny so much, therefore I just do stuff, and as long as it's not too reckless I don't worry about it. There is safety in moderation, with all things. Of course if you are prone, or predisposed to certain conditions, it's better to be safe, but if not, why live your life scared all the time of various conditions and diseases?
I believe the day I die and the cause of my death is already decided by God and I can't change this. As a mother, I don't do things that are blatantly putting my life in danger, and I'm not looking for a debate, I'm just trying to explain my thinking about mortality.
Life is too short to fret about dying, just live, and if there is something you've been wanting to do, DO IT, don't wait. Don't let your life be consumed by busyness and mind numbing tasks. Leave a legacy for your kids, and not one of just a clean house and meals cooked to perfection. Leave them a spirit of adventure, and memories of all the crazy things you did.
