About Anne - Is There Anything Worth Knowing?
Memory Lane...

Thanks Ms. Badoo for the previous introduction. I'm not quite sure there is too much else to tell except... look at that HAIR!!! I don't remember having that much hair! This was when I used to play and sing lead in a bluegrass band. I think I was about 17 in this picture. I remember this day so vividly. We did two shows at two different locations and did this photo shoot in front of a huge window in an old building in downtown Louisville, Ky. I remember being so worried about my hair. Since my hair is naturally straight I was afraid all the curl would fall out before the photo. Thank goodness for Vidal Sasoon! In case you're wondering, I purposely cut off the guys' heads in this scan.

This is a picture of me with the same group. We were performing at the Kentucky Center for the Arts. This was in the Bomhard Theater. I think I was about 19 here.

I decided to lose the guitar and move on from the bluegrass band to a rock band at the tender age of 21. When I was about 23 years old I decided to quit the rock band and head to Nashville, Tennessee - Music City! I wanted to be a star! I quickly found out that just about every other person I met was there for the same thing. I got a job as a legal secretary and that's what I did for a living for a long time while roaming the streets of Nashville, passing out demo tapes and performing here and there.

I decided I needed a "head shot" for my demo package and since I couldn't afford a "real" photographer I headed to the nearest Glamour Shots studio. It's just too funny! The color version of this photo is in a frame on my dresser. I asked HubbaDood when he was little if he knew who that was in the picture and he said "Mommy. I can tell by her teeth." Kids are so honest.

As life continues and time passes, I got married, had a child, quit my day job and moved back home to Kentucky and had another child after 10 years in Nashville. Priorities change and life moves on. It seems my body is moving on as well. Here's pretty much what I look like now. I might need to learn some new techniques at applying my makeup though. Bran-Man was over one day and we did face painting as part of his study of South Africa. I let the kids paint my face.

I have green eyes but I wish they were greener. I wish I didn't have "pink" skin. I don't mind my gray hair - everyone thinks I highlight it. I don't like to color my hair mostly because I'm not a maintenance person. I do good to get a shower and apply makeup. I like my smile but I wish my teeth were white. I can't whiten them because I fell on my face in 5th grade and chipped my front tooth. It has a bonding repair and in order to whiten my teeth I would have to replace the front one - can't afford that. I have great fingernails but I don't usually let them grow - can't play guitar that way. I like my lips, my eyes and the mole on my right cheek. I wouldn't feel too bad about my appearance if I could lose the excess person I'm carrying around.

I can't afford to buy clothes so I usually wear hand-me-downs from my mother-in-law who buys them from the goodwill. I had to say no to the hand-me-down down bras. HubbaHoney really didn't want to see me in his mom's old braziers. EEEeewwwww! I'm going to be an old fat granny one day wearing polyester and out-of-date glasses.
Moving on. Other than being a mom, homeschooling, singing, songwriting, and bible study, I'm obsessed with health and nutrition - I read all I can when I have time. I use and sell Shaklee products and built a website so I could market it on the web. I grew a LOT of gray hairs over that. I pretty much only drink water or decaf tea on occassion. I hate to go to the doctor and my kids only go for their well visits. I don't take over-the-counter or prescription meds if I can absolutely help it and neither do my kids. Notice I say me and the kids? HubbaHoney is at the nearest drugstore whenever he feels the slightest tickle. We go round and round over it.
So, if you need a song written, got some curriculum/homeschooling questions, want singing tips, have bible study issues or would like some help with health concerns and nutrition - I'm the Hottie who's "HOT" on the trail!
Thanks Badoozer for all this fun!
