Support the Dove Campaign

We have talked before about society and the unrealistic expectations of beauty that are portrayed.
If enough people get together on this, maybe something can be done. As we know, Dove has already come out with ad's in support of "normal" women, and while this is a novel concept, it needs to be expanded on, and targeted more toward the younger, more impressionable girls.

I've provided the link for a video and I believe emma mentioned this already, it shows this ordinary girl and the process she goes through, including adjustments made by computer, to "perfect" her face for an ad. Click Here to watch. Then post in and we'll discuss it.

granny: well she looked like she just got up..and what is wrong with that? nothing

emmers: i don't want to look like her at the end, i thought if they would have stopped at just putting on makeup it would have been fine, but no they had to stretch her neck out, and make it nearly pop off

fruity: we're going to do a before and after here coming up. but we won't be making changes on photoshop!!

Bleh! Real people don't look like that....and the fashion industry has led us to believe that they do.

I agree with badooz...the way they stretched her neck out-yuk. ....and they stretched out her eyes too...yuk again.

Hey, I want to do that too! No, that is not the discussion, is it? Okay But I want to look that good...and still eat lots of chocolate, NO we are suppose to except ourselves, chin hair and all. The way God made us. Did Eve get chin hair? I wonder....
