Oh Hair Mon Fraire

I like to talk about hair, really I do. Mostly because our lives would really suck without it. Since I've relocated to a new town, the water is hard and my hair is suffering. The hard water makes it tangly, coarser, and is messing with the color. It makes it look brassy, and lightens it. Since I'm in rental heaven a water softener is not an option, so i'm on the prowl for a good product that I can apply to my hair post shower to detangle, and make it silky.

I use conditioner after I shampoo, so that is not the trouble, and since my hair is straight, I need something that does not weigh it down or make it look greasy. My stylist sold me Bain de Terre Recovery complex, anti frizz serum, and you put this on when your hair is dry and styled. She used it on me before I left, and I ended up not liking the way it felt. Sort of like barbie doll hair. So I didn't use the product, and will return it next time I go in because it cost almost 18 dollars for a 2 oz bottle.

Then I bought Biolage Daily Leave in Tonic, and while I'm sure this made my hair feel silkier, it did not much help with the combing out tangles. After much searching, I have found a really good deep conditioner by Aveda but would rather not use it on a daily basis, because of the cost.

So that leaves me at a dilemma. If only all of lifes issues were just about hair tangles, oh how we would be bored!!

I fuss with my hair because it's one of the only things about my features that I actually like. Sometimes I worry that God will take it away from me if I fuss over it too much or like it too much.

when you find a good product for straight hair that is anti frizz and doesn't leave the hair looking oily let me know. brianna's hair is a pain. lol

My experience has been.....I either get good looking hair OR good feeling hair. Not both.

I would worry more about why you think god is going to punish you.

I use suave shampoo- the ones that imitate the name brands. They work great. Matrix smoothing one is good for straight hair.

Okay, so I'm a little lost, cuz this is my first visit so I don't "know" your hair.
BUT I like the Pantene line of 'recovery' conditioners - and I use Nexus humectress or Redkens leave in conditioner. To detangle hair. Matrix also makes a spray on detangler that rocks the house.
And for shiny I use this no-name brand stuff called "Silk drops" about 6 bucks for pretty shiny hair.
Having said all this, I have thick hair..really thick hair. So some or all of these maybe to heavy and leave your hair greasy looking if you have thin hair.
In which case, I'm sorry for all that.
